Welcome to the Tri-County Fly Fishers Club Website.
Tri-County Fly Fishers Club is a not for profit Club whose members have a true love for fly-fishing. We welcome anyone who wants to learn how to fly fish and gain experience in the art of fly tying; and become an active member of the fly-fishing Club.
This Club is made up of about eighty members from beginners to those with 50+ years of fly-fishing and tying experi-ence. Fishing interests range from bluegills and bass to redfish and tarpon, with an occasional rainbow or brown trout from up north or out west thrown in. Today, membership is drawn from permanent and seasonal residents of those in and around the Florida counties of Lake, Sumter and Marion.

December 2021 President's Message

President’s Mess. Dec 2021

This is my last Message as President and I want to thank all those who have helped us get through  a very unexpected time in our lives. As a club we slowed down with our social gatherings but did not quit.

Over the last 2 years there was a lot of work being done in the background by several of our members and I want to acknowledge them.

A special thanks to our 11 Board members who continued to meet during these tough tines.

We revised our By Laws. Barry Palmer chaired this committee of 8. Barry Palmer,Dan Dauchess, and Larry Nazzaro did most of the work. Thanks guys.

We changed from a not for profit Corp. to a Social Club. Dan Dauchess (did a lot of research on this).

In April of 2020 we stopped our regular business meetings, evening presentations, and canceled our spring picnic. As an indoor activity Evening Presentations were almost non existent. In June 2020 we did have an Evening Presentation by Dave Rambow. We did not have another Evening Presentation until Art Palmer did a presentation on rod building May 2021 and Dave did presentations in May and November 2021.

We did have our First Casting Tournament in Feb. 2021 and our Bass Tournament in March 2021. Both were very well attended. Thanks to all who helped make them possible.

We started a Monthly Fishing Derby December 2020 at the suggestion of Mike Carragher and these have gone very well.

Larry Nazzaro continued the monthly fly tying program.

Nov. 10th we had a day trip fishing for Barramundi with 8 members enjoying the day.

Our Annual WinterFest January 22, 2020 was very well attended with over 100 in attendance JBC (just before Covid).

We did a lot of rescheduling in the last 2 years:

In Jan 2021 WinterFest  was rescheduled to FallFest then rescheduled back to WinterFest in Jan 2022
