Welcome to the Tri-County Fly Fishers Club Website.
Tri-County Fly Fishers Club is a not for profit Club whose members have a true love for fly-fishing. We welcome anyone who wants to learn how to fly fish and gain experience in the art of fly tying; and become an active member of the fly-fishing Club.
This Club is made up of about eighty members from beginners to those with 50+ years of fly-fishing and tying experi-ence. Fishing interests range from bluegills and bass to redfish and tarpon, with an occasional rainbow or brown trout from up north or out west thrown in. Today, membership is drawn from permanent and seasonal residents of those in and around the Florida counties of Lake, Sumter and Marion.

I want to thank everyone who participated in the Barry Palmer Invitational Bass Tournament on April 16th.

It was a fun time and we had  20 teams.

There were a lot of positives about the tournament:

The number of members involved (35) was fantastic. We never had that many involved in a tournament before.

2 weeks before the tournament we had 7 members signed up. It took beating the bushes Calling, going to members homes, website announcement, and many email reminders to get a response. It was worth it!

if the forecast would have come true we would have been wiped out with thunderstorms. The front stalled and we were blessed with great weather.

After a very slow start we actually caught fish. Lou Thomas was the winner as the top team chucker for the tournament. His picker was Warren Rasmussen. They also won the alternative species

We ended the tournament in the Bistro for a nice lunch and drawing for several prizes.

The winning bid for Dick Curtis”s kayak was made by Paul Thomas.

Mike Carragher announced the winner of our Davey Ferris Fly Swap. It was a close competition among 11 members tying a snook pattern. Congratulations go to Russ Kucinski for taking home the prize. There was a drawing for a package of each of the flies tied for this 2021 competition and the 2020 competition.

A special thanks to all those who came to watch. We had over 40 people enjoy this event.
